The 179th Airlift Wing operates the C-130H2 Hercules transport aircraft. The C130H is powered by four turboprop engines, each with an estimated horsepower of 4,508. It carries a basic crew of five, plus up to 92 troops or approximately 45,000 pounds of cargo. The C-130H has a maximum speed of 386 miles per hour, and a range of up to 2,500 miles with a maximum payload. It has the capability of delivering personnel or supplies by air landing, parachute, or auxiliary delivery modes. The C-130H can operate on short and/or unimproved runways.
