Colonel Col. (Dr.) Andrew Lee

Col. (Dr.) Andrew Lee is the commander of the 179th Medical Group, Ohio Air National Guard, Mansfield, Ohio. The 179th Medical Group provides immunizations, public health, optometry, laboratory, and dental services to support preventive health assessments and deployment processing. As commander of the 179th Medical Group, he ensures members of the 179th Airlift Wing and 200th RED HORSE Squadron are able to deploy, mission-ready, to anywhere in the world.

 

Col. Lee joined the 179th Air Wing in 2000, and was direct commission as a Captain in 179th Medical Squadron as an Internal Medicine Physician. He graduated from Aerospace Medicine Primary in October 2003, earning his wings as a flight surgeon. He has over 15 years of experience, holding several key positions most recently the Chief of Aerospace Medicine and Senior Flight Surgeon.  He served as the Medical Group Commander from December 2015 - October 2016

 

Col. Lee deployed in support of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and recently Maria, Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. He has served at home station in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He had been an integral part of the Ohio CERF-P and Homeland Response Force. He has deployed to Hawaii in support of Innovative Readiness Training.  And has also provided care for members at home during Guard Care in Morrow and Madison County.  He remains an integral part of the 164 Airlift Squadron and actively flies with them and has helped with the smooth transition from the C-130 to the C-27 and back to the C-130 H1.    He also maintains a busy private practice in Pediatrics and Adult Internal Medicine and is involved in the local community of Galion and Crestline Ohio since 1995.  He has served as the Chief of Staff at a local community hospital and currently is in his 8th year as the chairman of the section of pediatrics.
